Ukraine and Denmark\u00a0have launched a\u00a0<\/span>new\u00a0<\/span>Ukraine Transition Program\u00a02025\u20132028<\/span>\u00a0with a budget of 2.8 billion Danish kroner ($375 million). The program focuses on restoring critical infrastructure, humanitarian aid, supporting veterans and internally displaced persons, fostering business, green transition in energy and transport, and continuing reforms. Ukraine has gained positive experience from cooperation with Denmark, particularly in Mykolaiv, where water pipelines were built to ensure the city’s access to drinking water.<\/div>\n

The<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>day before,\u00a0<\/span>Maryna Denysiuk,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>met with representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB) to discuss the implementation of investment projects for infrastructure reconstruction and development. The EIB was represented by Matteo Rivellini, Head of Division, and Kristina Mikulova, Head of\u00a0EIB\u00a0<\/span>Regional Hub for Eastern Europe.<\/div>\n
\u201cAs part of comprehensive recovery, we are not just rebuilding houses; we are creating a new space with a multisectoral approach, following the principle of \u2018build back better.\u2019 We consistently incorporate the EU\u2019s experience of implementing energy-efficient solutions and best practices. This will encourage people to stay in their communities rather than move to big cities,\u201d emphasized Ms. Denysiuk among others.<\/span><\/div>\n

The issue of recovery was recently discussed at a meeting held within the framework of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine. Oleksii Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Communities and Territories Development, met with heads of communities and regions, outlining the main focus of their work:<\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cPeople see not just renovated walls but communities where they can live and work. This is the main focus of our efforts. We are restoring the infrastructure, creating the opportunities for new housing projects, and supporting communities financially and organizationally. This is a task we undertake daily together with local authorities,\u201d commented Mr. Kuleba.<\/span><\/div>\n
