<\/a><\/p>\nOleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, President of the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild, is attending the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdansk, Poland. The forum traditionally serves as the main international platform dedicated to Ukraine\u2019s recovery and brings together governments, international financial institutions, businesses, donors, and professional communities to coordinate their reconstruction efforts.<\/p>\n
The first day of the conference confirmed a shift in the international agenda regarding Ukraine\u2019s recovery. While previously the main focus was on assessing the needs and creating support mechanisms, today the emphasis is moving toward launching specific projects, attracting investment, and practical implementation of programs.<\/p>\n
During the conference opening, the Ukrainian side said it expected to sign more than 160 agreements with a total value exceeding EUR 10 billion. On the first day, an agreement was signed with the World Bank for USD 3.39 billion under the program to support economic growth and employment. The European Commission also announced disbursement to Ukraine of the first tranche of a new EU credit facility worth EUR 3.2 billion.<\/p>\n
At the same time, IFIs continue to expand investment support. On the eve of the conference, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development announced preparations to sign new projects in Ukraine totaling over EUR 500 million.<\/p>\n
In parallel, the Ukrainian delegation is presenting to international partners a portfolio of initiatives in the fields of housing policy, modernization of communities, development of municipal infrastructure, public-private partnerships, attraction of private capital, and war risk insurance. Significant attention is also being paid to aligning the reconstruction processes with the European integration reforms.<\/p>\n
The first outcomes of the conference indicate that international support of Ukraine is increasingly shifting from the creation of financial mechanisms to the implementation of specific development programs. In these conditions, the quality of project preparation, professional management of their implementation, institutional capacity of contracting authorities, and effective coordination of all the reconstruction process stakeholders are becoming especially vital.<\/p>\n
