Last week, under the project for the construction of the water pipeline “Karachuniv reservoir – Kryvyi Rih – Southern reservoir, Marganets – Nikopol, Khortytsia (Waterworks 2) – Tomakivka”, as a response to the breach of the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant, representatives of the Client in the Dnipropetrovsk region, together with the team of the consulting engineer, attended the construction site with a scheduled visit. The parties inspected the works progress at six locations where the construction of water pumping stations is ongoing.<\/p>\n

During active multilateral communication with the participation of the consulting engineer, the parties preventively discussed possible difficulties that may arise during construction and ways to avoid or quickly solve them. Together with the subcontractor, they reviewed already completed works, construction plans and estimated time for completion, and discussed other arrangements.<\/p>\n

The total length of the main water pipeline “Karachuniv Reservoir – Kryvyi Rih – Southern Reservoir, Marganets – Nikopol, Khortytsia (Waterworks 2) – Tomakivka” will be 145 km, and the capacity will be 400,000 cubic meters of water. As of the end of August, the first line of the main water pipeline was launched in Kryvyi Rih, which will provide quality water to about 25% of the district’s population.<\/p>\n

According to the State Agency for Restoration<\/a>, as of the beginning of September, 129.3 km of the pipeline, i.e. 43%, have been installed.<\/p>\n

As you know, the design of the new water main began from scratch as early as three days after the disaster, and work continues around the clock in three shifts. Independent consulting engineers with international experience work in all areas.<\/p>\n

The project envisages the installation of pipes and 40 pumps, the production and supply of which involves six countries in order to increase capacity and speed up set deadlines. Under normal conditions, the implementation of such projects takes up to two years. However, given the strategic importance of the project, the estimated time for completion is 3-4 months, which will provide drinking water to more than 1.5 million people.<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> Mustafa Nayyem, the Head of the Agency for Restoration, “a three-level level of verification of data and estimates should ensure that the project will be executed with quality, on time and, very importantly, as transparently as possible.”<\/p>\n
