On September 8, during FIDIC<\/a> annual Global Infrastructure Conference and general assembly meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, an Italian engineer Alfredo Ingletti was elected FIDIC president-elect, meaning that in a year, in September 2025, he takes over as the FIDIC president after the completion of the Global Infrastructure Conference which is to take place in Cape Town, South Africa.<\/p>\n

Alfredo Ingletti is a co-founder, CEO and technical director of 3TI Progetti, an independent engineering company based in Rome, Italy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI congratulate Mr. Ingletti on having been elected FIDIC president from 2025. I know him to be a friend of Ukraine. We have been able to work with him on the projects in energy and water sectors. I am certain that his election will bring positive changes for consulting engineers globally and promote the development of new partnerships for Ukraine. This gives our country new opportunities to affect global engineering tendencies,\u201d said Dr. Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, ICEG president.<\/p>\n

Mr. Ingletti is going to be the first Italian elected FIDIC president.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy election is a confirmation of the solid reputation and high level of trust earned by Italy and Italian engineers and also by our country\u2019s FIDIC member association, OICE, the Association of Engineering, Architecture and Technical-Economic Consulting Organisations. I look forward to continuing to represent and advocate for FIDIC and its members as part of the board under the leadership of current president Catherine Karakatsanis and then as president in a year\u2019s time,\u201d noted Mr. Ingletti.<\/p>\n

Italian OICE<\/a> and ICEG signed the Memorandum of Understanding in 2022. Established in 1965, due to constant growth of the number of members, OICE now consolidated all large Italian engineering companies and the majority of qualified small and medium firms in this sector.<\/p>\n

Subject to the FIDIC charter, a year before the president\u2019s term of office is over, the general assembly elects a president-elect from the number of FIDIC vice presidents. This person is due to take over the presidential functions after the next GAM.<\/p>\n

FIDIC board consists of members elected by the general assembly for a four-year term. In their turn, they nominate candidates for president, vice president and president-elect, which are subsequently also approved by the general assembly.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
