Synergy of training and practice: ICEG hosts offsite bachelor’s degree theses defense by KNUCA students

June 18, 2026

On June 17, headquarters of the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild turned into a launchpad for self-confident future professionals while hosting an offsite session of the KNUCA construction department’s examination board before which the graduates defended their bachelor’s degree papers.

The main goal of this initiative was to combine academic theory and real-life practical experience. Young specialists got a great opportunity to demonstrate their ability to handle challenging economic and technical tasks fully adapted to tough requirements of the modern-day labor market.

Topics of the presented theses are of interest to ICEG, particularly, design of residential and public buildings using BIM technologies, economic aspects of foreign construction companies’ participation in rebuilding the housing stock in Ukraine, assessment of a construction company’s financial security and ways to ensure it, etc. In terms of engaging foreign companies in Ukraine’s recovery, the students also researched advantages and specifics of using internationally recognized contract forms, primarily FIDIC contracts.

The examination board included ICEG’s representatives, namely Professor Yurii Prav, Doctor of Sciences in Public Administration (ICEG Vice President) and Associate Professor Oksana Medvedchuk, Candidate of Sciences in Public Administration (Head of ICEG’s Regulatory and Methodological Support Department).

The event was attended by representatives of the Guild of Engineers of Technical Supervision of Architectural Facilities Construction and Association of Construction Industry Experts, self-regulated organizations interested in younger human resources in these professional areas.

Organization of such an event needed a serious preparation. Clear coordination of all preceding processes was provided by the ICEG and KNUCA joint lab Smart Contract Hub KNUCA led by Tetiana Tsyfra, Candidate of Economic Sciences. Near-future plans of the lab include formation of propositions for the subjects of end of year and graduation papers researching topical aspects of construction engineering.

This event has been another corroboration that ICEG and KNUCA are linked by a strong and lasting partnership resulting in joint innovative hubs and academic projects. ICEG intends to keep supporting talented youth by all means as such collaboration format encourages the growth of staffing capacity and introduction of modern approaches in developing the national construction industry.

We congratulate the KNUCA students on a successful defense of bachelor’s qualification works. It is an official start of their professional future.
