On April 27, during an online conference with ICEG managers and specialists, the Estonian Digital Construction Cluster (EDCC), represented by Tiit Hion, chairman of the board, and design and engineering company Roadplan, represented by CEO Riho Milva discussed prospective opportunities for cooperation in inspecting the facilities destroyed as a result of the Russian aggression, building temporary accommodation for the internally relocated people, and comprehensive recovery of Ukraine after the end of the war.
EDCC covers the entire construction cycle: architects, civil engineers, geodesists, contractors, developers, project management companies, etc. It applies an academic approach through engaging Estonian universities taking part in the cluster and concentrates its efforts on promoting innovations in design and construction, digitalization of all processes and introducing BIM technologies. Roadplan is one of the pioneers in implementing such technologies in Estonia.
ICEG president Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy noted that Estonia and Ukraine have common values and trends in construction market development, primarily introduction of new information technologies.
As you know, the Cabinet of Ministers Decree of 17.02.2021 No. 152-р approved the concept for introducing BIM technologies in Ukraine and an action plan to implement it. Also, a draft law is pending in the Verkhovna Rada concerning amendments to some Ukrainian legislation on introducing BIM at all stages of a facility lifecycle (reference No. 6383 of 03.12.2021).
