ICEG and LIKA discussed relevant sectors of collaboration

April 20, 2022

Launched on the initiative of ICEG president, Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, ICEG continues to have online meetings with national associations of consulting engineers and leading engineering companies of the world, which are aimed at supporting the Ukrainian market of engineering consulting services during the Russian armed aggression.

Today we spoke with Oskars Zivtiņš, chairman of the board, Latvian Association of Consulting Engineers  (LIKA), and Uldis Paeglitis, professional examiner of technical state of buildings and structures, LIKA boad member.

We reached agreement on exchanging the experience between Latvian and Ukrainian experts in inspecting damaged and destroyed buildings and providing specimens of documents/forms used by our partners during the surveys.

To build temporary accommodation for internally displaced people in Ukraine, we’ll be working jointly to study the Latvian market of companies specialized in such type of housing (including comprehensive modules than can be lived in in winter).

We also hope to obtain information about employment opportunities for Ukrainian engineers who are temporarily based in Latvia on legal bases.

For reference: Latvian Association of Consulting Engineers  (LIKA) was founded in 2003 to promote the profession of consulting engineer in the Latvian society, professional upgrading and enhancing competitiveness of LIKA members on the construction market. LIKA is a non-profit organization consolidating not only civil engineers and architects but also other experts involved in construction. As we informed before, LIKA and ICEG signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 26, 2018.
