Verifiers, designers, engineers, and other work and service providers in construction are one of the first to visit the facilities damaged or destroyed due to the Russian aggression. Obviously, they are and seriously risking their lives and health.

It is worth to take care of protecting property interests linked to life, health, and workability of professionals while they are performing their duties. One of such protection forms is insurance against accidents.

Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild, self-regulated organizations of verifiers, designers, and supervisors in construction together with our longtime partner VUSO Insurance Company are developing an agreement of complex voluntary insurance of third-party liability during professional activities and against accidents, which will stipulate such insurance.

Under this agreement, the insurance shall cover injuries or other damage to health caused by detonation of a mine, tripwire trap, undetonated shell and other ammunition or collapse of damaged or destroyed buildings.

We are convinced that insurance of life and health of work and service providers in construction during inspection, reconstruction, and demolition of facilities damaged by the war must be obligatory and ensured by the government as stipulated in Article 31 of the Law of Ukraine “On countermine operations” for demining experts. However, such opportunity has not been provided yet, and everyone has a right to make an insurance agreement independently and enter the related costs into a summarized cost estimate and contract price correspondingly.
