ICEG continues to actively work on building a strong and powerful international team of fellow-thinkers on the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Thus, on February 8, Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, ICEG President, had a meeting with Juan Antonio Obregón Sánchez, Head of the Commercial and Economic Office of the Embassy of Spain in Ukraine, in the premises of the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild. He expressed his support for the Ukrainian people in this challenging time: “War is a great tragedy for all of us. The whole world is overwhelmed by the strength of the resistance of the Ukrainian people. Among the consequences of war, the first is losses. But also, the war pushed Ukraine closer to Europe and changed Europe’s view of Ukraine. And the main thing is that the integration of Ukraine into the EU will take place on an accelerated schedule.”

During the meeting, the parties discussed the vision of both sides regarding the reconstruction of Ukraine, exchanged information about the features of the Ukrainian and Spanish markets, and agreed to strengthen cooperation between ICEG and the Spanish Association of Engineering, Consulting and Technology Services Companies TECNIBERIA.

“Spain and TECNIBERIA have a great interest in Ukraine, but know little about it. Our goal is to reduce this gap and create a structure of trust,” said Mr. Obregon Sanchez.

The Commercial and Economic Office of the Embassy of Spain and the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild outlined a number of measures for future implementation at the level of enterprises, associations and authorities.

Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, ICEG President, noted the importance of cooperation today: “We believe in the victory, and we are confident that a construction boom will follow in Ukraine after this. At the same time, it is necessary to start building the foundation for work now so that as many international companies with the best experience as possible can join the reconstruction of Ukraine in the post-war period.”

This meeting was a continuation of cooperation between ICEG and the Spanish partners, which intensified as early as in the first months of the war back in 2022. In particular, in May 2022 the Spanish-Ukrainian construction forum “Reconstruction Program in Ukraine” was held with the support of the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild and Confederation of Builders of Ukraine
