Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, neighbouring countries of Ukraine actively provided “first aid” to the Ukrainian people and the state as a whole – they accepted refugees, and delivered humanitarian aid to the most affected regions of Ukraine, to prevent a social disaster. Recently, Ukraine and Romania signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation, which provides for the increase of defence production capacities and the expansion of ammunition production.
Romania plans to take an active part in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the end of the war launched by Russia. According to the European Pravda, this was confirmed by Marcela Colaca, the Prime Minister of Romania, during his meeting with Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State,
Marcela Ciolacu noted that for international partners who are interested in projects of restoration of Ukraine, Romania is relevant due to its geographical proximity, security, sea, river, railway and road connections. Thus, many factors contribute to the possibility of opening branches of engineering, consulting, and construction international enterprises on the territory of Romania.
In its turn, the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild actively develops international relations, in particular within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Romanian Association of Consulting Engineers (ARIC) back in 2016. Taking into account the possibility of new companies (branches) entering the Romanian market, ICEG will be ready to locally assist partner companies, members of ARIC.
