Construction is not stopping

In Ukraine, a large-scale reconstruction of settlements affected by Russia’s full-scale invasion is ongoing. Our country demonstrates its resilience every day. Where yesterday there were destroyed buildings and ashes, today homes are being rebuilt, schools restored, and roads and bridges repaired. Reconstruction has become a symbol of the strength and faith of Ukrainians in the future—we are not just restoring what was lost, we are building the country anew, making it better than before.

According to recent information from the Restoration Agency, the following developments are taking place:

Reconstruction is not just about repairing damaged buildings. It is a comprehensive process of restoring life in communities devastated by the Russian all-out invasion. Ukraine is gradually moving from addressing the consequences of war to systematic development, restoring housing, social and cultural facilities, and transport and engineering infrastructure.

“Reconstruction is a symbol of the Ukrainians’ resilience. Every repaired school, hospital, or residential building is not just walls but a return to normal life for thousands of people. We are rebuilding the destroyed not for the past but for the future, to create modern and comfortable living conditions. Importantly, reconstruction follows the principle of ‘build back better,’ that means mostly energy-efficient buildings, safe public spaces, and infrastructure that meets the current needs. This is our collective victory over destruction and proof that construction in Ukraine is not stopping despite all the challenges of war,” said Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, President of ICEG.
