A retreat of separate division leaders of the Guild of Technical of Architectural Facilities Construction Supervision Engineers was held in October in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Natalia Kozlovska, Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, welcomed the attendees and thanked them for many years of their work.

“We’ve been discussing our problems a lot via communication media, but this time we’ve had the first offline event since the all-out Russian invasion began. The big war has been going on for 2.5 years, which affected each and every sector, especially the processes of assessment of buildings and construction supervision. These are challenges we learn to face every day responding to new risks. This event was held to accumulate our experience. Upgrading the engineers’ knowledge is another step toward our victory,” said Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, President of the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild.

The workshop was dedicated to the “Wartime construction legislation. Role of construction supervision engineer in Ukraine’s recovery.” They also reviewed current trends in pricing and quantity surveying in construction and analyzed basic document updates, peculiarities of applicable legislation and case law on activities of construction supervision engineers.

“In fact, since February 2022, our Guild has not stopped its statutory activities, organizational, advisory and training work, and the challenges we’ve been facing as a result of hostilities are only emphasizing of importance of professionals’ work at every level of the technological chain of a facility construction process. Leaders of separate divisions continue their professional activities, perform organization and coordination functions, and contribute to improving the regulations,” noted Yurii Prav, President of the Guild of Construction Supervision Engineers.
