On September 8, during the FIDIC annual Global Infrastructure Conference and general assembly meeting that was held in Geneva, Switzerland, a Romanian engineer Cosmin Tobolcea was elected FIDIC board member.

“Memorandum of Understanding between the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild and Romanian Association of Consulting Engineers (ARIC) was signed back in 2016. Dr. Tobolcea, general manager of PROTOBY, one of Romania’s leading engineering consultancies, has over 20 years of experience in implementing construction contracts. In 2021, he won the FIDIC Future Leaders Award. As emphasized by FIDIC president Catherine Karakatsanis, this appointment demonstrates the organization’s serious approach to engaging new talents. I am sincerely happy for you, greetings from Ukrainian consulting engineers!” said ICEG president Dr. Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy.

In Geneva, Dr. Tobolcea spoke at the People and Culture Forum on discussing key issues in activities of the professionals involved in managing the human resources.

“It is a great honor to me that my colleagues have elected me to the FIDIC board. Cooperation with FIDIC and volunteering in this industry have greatly shaped my professional growth, and I recommend all young specialists joining the global family of FIDIC. It is a basis of the international consulting community. I am happy now to be part of forming the future if this community, our industry and FIDIC itself,” Dr. Tobolcea noted.
