The European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA) has announced the launch of the 17^th EFCA Future Leaders competition. The event aims to demonstrate the role of consulting engineers in complex infrastructure projects, community development, and implementation of sustainable development principles. The competition is open to professionals aged 35 and under working for EFCA-affiliated companies.

In Ukraine, the EFCA member association is the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild (ICEG). The competition applications shall be submitted to EFCA by ICEG as direct application by candidates is not envisaged.

The entries will be assessed against five excellence categories:

• Quality of Submission / Presentation;
• Engineering;
• Digital & New Technologies;
• Impact on Climate & Biodiversity;
• Contribution to Society.

The overall winner of the EFCA Future Leaders’ Competition 2026 will be determined by evaluating the entries across all excellence categories (excluding presentation quality) and awarded the Grand Prix

Under the EFCA rules, applications from Ukraine are submitted via the national member association, the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild (ICEG). Each member association may nominate up to 5 candidates that submit their applications to their national association.

Candidates must prepare:

• project presentation (in PDF, video or presentation format, not exceeding 5 minutes);
• brief CV;
• statement from the director or supervisor confirming the candidate’s role in the project.

All materials must be in English or accompanied by an English translation.

ICEG has established a commission that, guided by the Board’s Resolution No. 2-1 of 07.01.2026, will carry out preliminary assessment of the submission quality and selection of candidates to be nominated for the EFCA competition.
