EFCA announces the winner of the sixteenth Future Leader’s Competition

The European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA) has announced the winner of the sixteenth Future Leader’s Competition. It is Anders Reinertsen Liaøy from Norway.

Among a wide range of entries, Anders and his team stood out with their comprehensive and technically robust approach to reducing CO₂ emissions in the built environment. The project demonstrates a strong integration of engineering expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and new technologies to tackle climate challenges.

Winners in the following excellence categories are:

  • Digital & New Technologies – Simona Corrado (Italy) who has developed a system, utilizing AI to ensure the safety and continuity of drinking water supply.
  • Impact on Climate & Biodiversity – Mara Franchi (Italy) with a large-scale river restoration initiative. Her project contributes to global efforts aimed at restoring natural river landscapes and biodiversity.
  • Excellence in Engineering – Cian Long (Ireland) who delivered an advanced engineering project involving the construction of the longest precast segmental bridge.

The EFCA Future Leaders network is open to all professionals in the engineering consultancy sector who are 35 years old or younger and work in firms that are EFCA members.
