Throughout the war in Ukraine, the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA), where ICEG is a member since 2017, has been demonstrating its unwavering support for the engineering community of Ukraine. In particular, EFCA maintains a continuous dialogue with the European Commission, DG NEAR, the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) to involve international firms and specialists in the process of rebuilding Ukraine. In 2022, EFCA launched the Ukraine Support Group, bringing together experts from 15 countries who share their experience to improve existing approaches and develop new ones to project delivery, taking into account the development experience of countries in post-conflict situations.

Last week, upon the initiative of the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA) and the European Federation of Management Consultancies Associations (FEACO), the European Investment Bank team led by Sven Röben, Head of Ukraine Team, held a meeting dedicated to opportunities and the Bank’s strategy for the future post-war recovery of the country, at the headquarters of the EIB in Luxembourg. Bakhtiyar Khodjaev, ICEG Vice President, took part in the meeting on behalf of the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild.

The event was focused on understanding the EIB role, procurement and future projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine that could become a platform for newer and greener technologies. A special attention was drawn to Technical assistance programs, EU Facility, EU4U short-term initiative designed to support recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine, boost economic resilience of the country on its path to EU accession, as well as to features of delivering services in Ukraine during the wartime.

As reported by ICEG before, the meeting took place after the fruitful discussion held by EIB with the delegation from EFCA and FEACO in Luxembourg earlier last week.
