Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild and Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) have signed the memorandum of scientific cooperation as a logical continuation of the current Memorandum of Understanding and a significant step toward the integration of education, science, and practice in the field of construction.

A pivotal area of cooperation is development of the joint lab Smart Contract Hub KNUCA established at the KNUCA’s Construction Economics Department. The lab is a state-of-the-art platform for:

– project management research;

– digitalization of construction (BIM technologies, data driven solutions);

– expert support of the infrastructure recovery;

– risk management and project cost engineering;

– elaboration of syllabuses and upskilling programs;

– internship of the academic staff and stakeholders.

Partnership with a leading sectoral university means not only theory but also the formation of new approaches to developing the service and profession of the consulting engineer in Ukraine.

The cooperation will be focused on training of competitive economists and builders who will have mastered the basics of consulting engineering services and use of globally recognized contract forms (primarily, FIDIC contracts), etc. as early as during their study. Implementation of joint research and education projects is a promising line of work as well.

ICEG is bridging the gap between academic research and actual needs of consulting engineers to make the construction project management in Ukraine transparent, effective, and integrated in the international environment of engineering consulting.
