On the sidelines of FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, the Federation of Swedish Innovation Companies (Innovationsföretagen) and the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild (ICEG) have entered into the Memorandum of Understanding.

The agreement is based on the FIDIC principles of highest international standards in procurement, design, construction, and management of the built and natural environment.

As the website of Innovationsföretagen reports, the new MoU will promote strengthening the opportunities for member companies to contribute to Ukraine’s reconstruction based on knowledge exchange and high quality requirements.

“With this agreement, we are taking a concrete step to connect Swedish and Ukrainian engineering expertise in projects that both accelerate reconstruction and ensure quality, transparency and sustainability. Our goal is to make a real difference – for people, communities and businesses,” says Anders Lenhoff, Director of Innovationsföretagen.

While Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, President of ICEG, notes, “For the nearest months we are planning such joint activities as online communication, knowledge sharing, and pilot initiatives in priority sectors. Member companies of Innovationsföretagen and ICEG wishing to contribute to cooperation will be invited to special information meetings.”

For reference: Innovation Companies is an industrial and employers’ organization representing companies in the knowledge-intensive service sector and bringing together approximately 850 member companies, which together have 45,000 employees, which is two thirds of the sector’s resources.

Ukrainian is traditionally topical for Innovation Companies, in particular, last year there was a webinar when the participants discussed business opportunities for Swedish companies in Ukraine and 5 recommendations were given to the companies willing to get involved in Ukraine’s reconstruction.
