The Ministry of Infrastructure team met with Davide La Cecilia, Special Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The Ministry’s representatives presented the focuses of cooperation including rehabilitation of energy sector and developing the bilateral relations in transport sector.

Mr. La Cecilia said that over 200 Italian companies are ready to enter the Ukrainian market and get involved in recovering our country.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice Prime Minister for Recovery, emphasized that getting the business structures to working in Ukraine is one of the key tools of reconstruction. He noted that cooperation at the level of a region, central authorities and partner country has proven to be efficient as exemplified by Denmark and Mykolaiv region. Mr. Kubrakov added that the process of establishing a similar format for Italy plus a Ukrainian region is under way.

Mr. La Cecilia later visited Lviv region. He wanted to know the sites in the region, whose restoration or development Italy could contribute to. Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of Lviv Regional Military Administration, pointed to three projects with completed expert assessment, that can be implemented even now with the help of international donors. In its turn, the Italian delegation will review all offers and decide which of them Italy will take up.
