The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft grant agreement between the Ukrainian and Japanese governments for JPY 8.8 billion or close USD 58 million, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said yesterday at the Government’s meeting.
Ці кошти будуть розподілені на 6 напрямів у межах Фази 4 Програми екстреного відновлення, яка реалізовується в Україні за координації Міністерства розвитку громад та територій та Японського агентства міжнародного співробітництва (JICA):
These funds will be distributed in 6 sectors within Phase 4 of the Emergency Recovery Program being implemented in Ukraine and coordinated by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA):
According to the Ministry of Development, the draft agreement is expected to approved by the Government of Japan this week.
The Grant agreement to implement the Emergency Recovery Program was signed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Government of Ukraine on March 9, 2023
Phase 3 of the Program is still ongoing and will last until March 2026.
Phase 2 is ending next month.
For reference: Japan International Cooperation Agency, also known as JICA, is a governmental agency providing the largest part of the official development assistance from the Japanese government. The JICA’s objective is to facilitate the economic and social development in the developing countries as well as international cooperation development.
