The Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine has announced opening of the fifth phase of “Hansen Town” in Tarasivka, Kyiv region, which is a multifunctional residential cluster for families from frontline regions. The project includes an apartment building, dormitory for evacuees, space for the IT academy students, and a rehabilitation shelter for women who have suffered from Russian troopers violence.
The opening ceremony was attended by Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the Charity Hansen Ukrainian Mission.
Today, almost 500 families from Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions already live in the town.
The project demonstrates that modern engineering and construction are key tools for restoring lives and supporting communities. High-level design, application of cutting-edge building technologies, and efficient open space planning made it possible to complete the residential complex in a record short time – only eight months passed from the concept to moving in.
Over two years, the Charity Hansen Ukrainian Mission has spread its project to Sofiivska Borshchahivka, Kolonshchyna, Moshchun, Andriivka, and Buzova, building more than 900 housing units for approximately 4,000 internally displaced persons.
A new residential complex in Hlevakha, Kyiv region, is currently in the design stage. The future 720 housing units demonstrate a comprehensive approach to engineering and urban development, taking into account energy efficiency, safety, and comfort of dwellers.
For the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild, this piece of news is an excellent example of how professional engineering work, competent design, and consulting support not only ensure erection of quality housing, but also formation of safe, resilient, and comfortable communities. Previously, we reported on the initiative Joining efforts to provide IDP with housing, where we covered comprehensive public and international support of IDPs in the field of social and rental housing. It is owing to the coordinated work of consulting engineers, architects, and builders that the restoration of territories is becoming a reality, and lives of thousands of people are becoming secure and predictable.
