NEWS FROM OUR PARTNERS: International Consortium P.K.C. – FBM ANDASA involved in project implementation in Ukraine

May 8, 2025

As part of the experimental project approved by the Cabinet of Ministers Decree No. 566 of 06.06.2023, Consortium P.K.C. – FBM ANDASA provided engineering consulting services and independent construction supervision services during a new construction of Khortytsia – Tomakivka – Marhanets water transmission piping. The experimental project was aimed at mitigating the consequences of the emergency caused by destruction of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant and ensuring the life support of Ukrainian people in a situation of critical drop in water level in the Kakhovka Reservoir.

The piping has a length of 77.9 km and rated capacity of 150,000 m3 of water per day. It was built in very tough conditions, under constant shellings, and it was completed in a record short period. Simultaneously with construction work, they carried out design and obtained the required technical specifications and licenses. The piping system is fully automated and digitalized and is powered by a permanent energy supply source.

The water is supplied from Zaporizhzhia to a pumping and filtering station in Marhanets (first branch) where it is purified and delivered to consumers in Marhanets, Myrove, Shyroke, and Tomakivka communities. The second branch will supply water to Nikopol, Pokrovske, and Chervonohryhorivks in Dnipropetrovsk Region.

Summing up the work, Oleh Vasenov, lead consulting engineer, technical director of Consortium P.K.C. – FBM ANDASA, said, “Owing to a well-coordinated work of builders, designers, land surveyors, and consulting engineers, the transmission piping is functioning in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, built “from scratch” after the Kakhovka Dam was destroyed by Russians.”

On its official website and social media, the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development of Ukraine published monthly reports on the work progress and mentioned the work delivery on site by consulting engineers and independent construction supervisors at every section (for more details, see the news here, here and here).

For reference: Consortium P.K.C. – FBM ANDASA is a strong alliance of two leading companies, Pakatz Engineering and LLC “FBM Ukraine.” The consortium has united all best practices and technologies of both companies and created a powerful engineering consulting team with a great potential. It has become a reliable partner for clients and provides a wide range of services in the area of design, consulting, construction, and project management.
