As part of participation the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild’s delegation in FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference 2025, special attention was paid to a working meeting of Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, President of ICEG, with Thanos Totsikas, General Manager of FIDIC Credentialing.
FIDIC Credentialing Ltd (FCL) was established in Geneva, Switzerland in 2019 and is the official certification body of FIDIC.
FCL currently offers 6 areas of certification and issues certificates that attest knowledge and skills in various aspects of project management and engineering in compliance with FIDIC standards:
FCL aims to achieve accreditation from the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS) in accordance with ISO 17024:2012 Conformity assessment — General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons, as noted on the FCL website. In Ukraine, the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU) also carries out accreditation of bodies offering certification of persons. The first body certifying the construction industry professionals was awarded accreditation back in 2016, and the first profession certified under this system was “consulting engineer (construction).”
The working meeting was focused on discussing the system of certification of persons, meaning of international standards in unifying the approaches to conformity assessment of professionals in the engineering industry, and ways and prospects of further cooperation.
