Swiss financial aid and loans from South Korea to create new opportunities for engineering

Ukraine keeps obtaining substantial financial support from international partners.

Thus, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine has informed that the Government of Switzerland is planning to allocate 1.5 b Swiss francs for reconstruction projects in Ukraine for the next 4 years. 1 b of this amount will be targeted at self-government, demining, and humanitarian aid. The rest will be spent for recovery programs involving the Swiss private sector. According to Oleksii Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Ukraine Recovery and Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, there are regional programs of housing construction for the internally displaced people.

At the same time, the Ministry of FInance of Ukraine has published the information about signing a loan agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea on providing USD 100 m. The loan is granted for 20 years at 1% per annum with 5-year grace period. Thus, this is going to be the first time for Ukraine to receive financing from the Republic of Korea.

“Swiss aid and Korean loans are not only improving our infrastructure but also facilitating international cooperation. ICEG and our members are open to collaborating with foreign companies that are ready to become part of the recovery process,” said Dr. Oleksandr Nepomnyashchyy, ICEG President.
