With Lithuanian support, free adaptive design “Future school for Ukraine” delivered

January 27, 2026

As part of international cooperation for the reconstruction of educational facilities, the adaptive design “Future school for Ukraine” has been presented. It includes a complete set of technical documentation to build a modern educational space in line with the latest standards and taking into account security and inclusivity requirements. The design was developed on the initiative and with the support of Lithuania.

It is available to communities free of charge. This significantly reduces the time period to prepare the design documentation and optimizes reconstruction costs.

For donors, it means having a verified, technically feasible solution that complies with Ukrainian state building norms and aligns with European quality standards.

The “Future school for Ukraine” project:

  • has passed the necessary expert review;
  • complies with Ukraine’s state building norms;
  • takes into account requirements for safety, durability, accessibility, mechanical systems, and energy efficiency.

The first school based on this model is planned to be built in Zhytomyr.

The design has been officially published in State Electronic System in Construction Sector of Ukraine. To support practical implementation, an accompanying handbook has been prepared in Ukrainian and English.

As part of fostering cooperation with Lithuanian partners, in particular, through communication with the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA), ICEG specialists provided advisory support regarding the Ukrainian regulatory environment in the field of engineering services, practice of engaging consulting engineers, and organization of construction project implementation processes.

This exchange of expertise is aimed at reducing risks, improving project manageability, and ensuring the efficient use of funds during the recovery process.

International reconstruction practice involves professional support of the client, clear distribution of roles, and risk management at all stages of project implementation — from the investment concept to the commissioning of the facility. This is the way ICEG keeps on working with foreign partners, contributing to the formation of controllable and predictable recovery processes in Ukraine.
