China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC), established for China’s investment system reform and for scientific and democratic decision-making, is the largest comprehensive engineering consulting firm in China, involving the greatest variety of industries. As a major consulting service provider for the central government concerning investment and construction projects,CIECC is mandated to help the Chinese government make the best decisions for major national development projects. It has also been fully trusted by local governments, enterprises, public institutions and other organisations.

Today ICEG held introductory online meeting with CIECC, which became the next step in the establishment of cooperation with international partners in the context of sharing experience and cooperation on the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure and the implementation of construction projects in general.

The meeting brought together four parties and was facilitated by ICEG partner, Peter Murphy, seasoned expert in project development and project management, managing director of Quantum Global Solutions (Qatar), one of the most dynamic consulting companies in the Middle East. Another participant of the discussion was Adam Bialachowski, a member of the Polish Association of Consulting Engineers (SIDiR), Chair of the Future Leaders Council of FIDIC and CEO of B-Act Quantum Vintage – an engineering consulting company with Polish capital and experience in implementing projects in Poland, Romania, Ukraine and the Baltic countries.

Among the issues discussed was the assessment of the competence of the personnel in engineering industry, as China and Ukraine are pioneers in the field of certification of consulting engineers.

It should be noted that the world’s first FIDIC Pilot Programme for training and certification of consulting engineers, with 512 enrolled participants, was implemented in China back in 2016. The Programme consisted of three training courses, was endorsed by the State Council of China and conducted by FIDIC together with the China National Association of Engineering Consulting (CNAEC) on the basis of Peking University.
