Experts of the Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild together with representatives of the Ukrainian business community and civil society, as well as German partners attended the Upgrade Ukraine international conference that was held in Berlin on October 25.

As you know, all wars end, and the victory and postwar reconstruction require a proper preparation. This event was aimed at not only introducing the Ukrainian and German business communities to each other but also demonstrating the opportunities and ways of interaction with European partners as early as now.

The event was facilitated and attended by representatives of ministries, an ambassador at large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representative of financial, construction, and IT markets, charities, and investment companies.

The Conference attendees discussed construction prospects and predicted a growing share of residential housing in the Ukrainian construction market, which is primarily caused by a great number of destroyed houses and mass-scale displacement of Ukrainian citizens. The Conference demonstrated capacities of European companies to solve the tasks identified. The priority sectors for cooperation include IT/cyber security, construction, logistics and transportation, and agribusiness.

The leitmotif that sounded throughout the entire event was that European partners are not expecting short-term projects but want to walk long distances together with Ukrainian colleagues.

It is also obvious that investments in the building potential of Ukraine are investments in Europe.
