During the meeting of Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, with Antonio Tajani, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy held in Kyiv in early October 2023, the parties discussed the needs for the restoration of Ukraine, in particular, Italy pledged patronage of reconstruction of the city of Odessa and Odesa region.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE) is ready to provide financial guarantees to Italian companies for this purpose.

Also, Italy and Ukraine signed an agreement on the reconstruction of 18^th century Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi Cathedral in Odessa, which was damaged by Russian rocket attack in July. Damage assessment is already underway.

For reference: Interstate Consultants Engineers Guild has been working on strengthening cooperation with Italian business and engineering companies, which was the subject of ICEG meeting held online with the Italian Association of Engineering and Architectural companies (OICE). The signing of the MoU between ICEG and OICE witnessed the alignment of their positions.
