We create a legislative foundation for the using of FIDIC contracts  

The Interstate Guild of Consulting Engineers (ICEG) as an independent professional association in the field of engineering and consulting services and as an Affiliate Member of FIDIC makes every effort to promoting FIDIC contracts in Ukraine including at the legislative level.

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 12 July 2016 adopted on first reading an important bill on of urban planning (№4733-1 dated 03.06.2016). People’s Deputy of Ukraine Valeryy Karpuntsov together with ICEG has prepared proposals to its revision for second reading.

It is provided:

• differentiate between function of technical supervision and consulting engineer;
• legislatively to define an engineering consultancy as function of specialized independent engineering organization or a specialist in administrative and consulting assistance design and construction of facilities;
  
• establish requirements for personnel certification in the engineering consultancy;
• set the rights and obligation of customers on the application of principles and conditions of FIDIC contracts during construction facilities that are building using funds from international financial institutions, and in other cases determined by law or contract.

  ICEG by the separate letter thanked to Valeryy Karpuntsov for his constructive stance. We hope that the Verkhovna Rada Committee and The People’s Deputies of Ukraine will support these legislative initiatives.

  FIDIC – International Federation of Consulting Engineers (Federation Internationale Des Ingenieurs Conseils) is a globally recognized organization founded in 1913 and unites more than 90 national associations, representing more than 4,000 practicing consulting engineers of construction industry.

  The main goal FIDIC – regulation of relations between participants of international investment and construction projects on the basis of standard forms of contracts.

  The need for using of FIDIC contracts is dictated by conditions of international financial organizations which credit the investment projects in Ukraine.
